Tasha’s Epic Quadrennial Olympics Analysis
Closing Ceremony
Ladies and gentlemen, we’ve reached my last recap for these Olympic games. It’s hard to believe that it’s been 16 days since these Olympic games began.
- What can I say about the closing ceremony? Paris definitely gets the vanguard award for its imagining of both the opening and closing ceremonies.
- By far the coolest part was the dangling piano.
- And of course, the City of Lights didn’t disappoint with its light show depicting Olympic athletes moving across the audience.
- Paris also lived up to its reputation as being the City of Love. These Olympic games featured the most marriage proposals.
- The speech given by Tony Estanguet, President of the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, proves that everything sounds better with a French accent. Mon Dieu!
- I’m embarrassed to admit that I was today year’s old when I realized the five Olympic rings represented the five continents. I could’ve sworn there were seven, but for Olympic purposes, the five continents are Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe, and Oceania.
- Six athletes were brought up on stage to help extinguish the Olympic flame (one from each continent plus the Refugee Olympic Team). I was so happy to see my new boo, Teddy Riner holding it down for Europe.
- As for the welcome to Los Angeles, H.E.R. did her thing like usual. Plus, I loved her whole look from head to toe.
- Anthony Kiedis had me at dad bod. Whew, I love me some Red Hot Chili Peppers.
- I’m confused. Where was the Olympic flag when Tom Cruise jumped out of plane?
- Go big or go home was the theme of Snoop’s wardrobe. That bedazzled Olympics suit was everything.
- Yseult’s rendition of “My Way” was the absolute perfect way to end these Olympic games. She had me ugly crying. I started off these Olympic games in tears and I will end these Olympic games in tears.
- My final aside, I don’t think Katie Ledecky should’ve had to share the flag bearing responsibility in the closing ceremony.
Well, that’s it for me. I’m signing off for now, but I’ll see y’all in four years in Los Angeles. Bonne nuit.
